Eight fields that rarely turn up on their own. An IT project touches contract law and data protection. An AI project adds copyright and employment law.
We advise where technology and law meet. Dividing the work into practice areas helps as a way in, but it rarely reflects an actual case. Anyone negotiating a cloud contract is dealing with contract law, data protection and IT security at the same time.
That is why we work across the fields and coordinate internally rather than passing you from one area to the next. Pick whichever entry point comes closest to your question.
What belongs to IT law
IT law is not a code of its own but a cross-cutting field. It is assembled from parts regulated elsewhere, which is why the following areas turn up together in almost every project.
- Contract law, from software development to framework agreements. That is the focus of IT contract law.
- Data protection, as soon as personal data is involved, which is almost always. See Data protection.
